MINNEAPOLIS – Investigators searched a central Minnesota property Wednesday where an 11-year-old boy was abducted at gunpoint nearly 21 years ago and never heard from again.
A Clay County jury found a Moorhead man guilty of fracturing the skull of an infant he was baby-sitting, reaching a verdict Tuesday night after a five-day trial, Clay County Attorney Brian Melton said.

Residents sought return of program for at-risk kids
A program targeting at-risk youths in Moorhead’s diverse Romkey Park neighborhood is back.
Psychologist William J. Doherty at the University of Minnesota has taken a hard look at the pressures facing parents in our affluent consumer culture, and the results aren’t pretty. In his book, “Take Back Your Kids,” he highlights examples of parents who are devoted, sensitive and caring but fail to set enough limits.
“Do you know what your daughter said when we were having ice cream cones at the mall?” my sister asked.
I braced myself. I never quite know what will come out of my 6-year-old’s mouth.
